NEW YORK — In this presentation from OSN New York, Dimitra Skondra, MD, PhD, of the University of Chicago, shares tips for managing diabetic tractional retinal detachment.
Skondra discussed the important role of cataract management in cases of diabetic tractional retinal detachment and how long-acting tamponade can help prevent secondary detachment, along with several other tips.
“I think very often we compare different studies,” she said. “We pull together data, and we compare apples with oranges. Not all diabetic detachments that are described in papers are the same, not all patients are the same, and definitely not all surgical approaches are the same.”
