VIDEO: OmniVu IOL shows positive near, intermediate and distance vision at 2 years

CHICAGO — In this Healio Video Perspective from the AAO meeting, George O. Waring IV, MD, FACS, presents first-in-human 2-year data for the OmniVu dual-optic modular IOL for presbyopia correction at the time of cataract surgery.

Manifest refraction spherical equivalent over 2 years with the OmniVu IOL (Atia Vision) showed “excellent” stability, with positive results in binocular uncorrected distance visual acuity, intermediate vision and near vision, according to Waring.

“The concepts transcend traditional thinking in IOL designs in that this is a more physiologic lens in a capsule-filling volumetric manner, which we think can help with reduction of posterior capsular opacification and, as a result, stabilization of effective lens position over time,” he said.
