CHICAGO — In this Healio Video Perspective from the AAO meeting, Victoria L. Tseng, MD, PhD, of the Stein Eye Institute and Doheny Eye Center at UCLA, overviews glaucoma research from a session she moderated.
Follow-up data from the LiGHT trial found that patients who underwent selective laser trabeculoplasty may experience slower rates of visual field progression compared with patients treated with eye drops. Another analysis suggested that patients with higher IOP at baseline experienced better results with SLT.
Other highlights included the impact of retinal injections on IOP, how genetics may play a role in personalized glaucoma treatment and the safety of the Preserflo microshunt (Glaukos) compared with trabeculectomy.
