CHICAGO — In this Healio Video Perspective from the AAO meeting, Vikas Chopra, MD, discusses vitreous management for the anterior segment surgeon.
“The reason this is important is because vitreous loss is a very uncommon complication of cataract surgery but certainly a very important one,” he said. “One of the pitfalls in all of our lives is that if we don’t encounter something very often, we often become unaccustomed to how to manage it.”
In addition, Chopra discussed the positive impact of MIGS and how it has allowed for earlier intervention in patients with glaucoma.
“There are many physicians that are capable of doing these surgeries, and the minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries are really just an add-on to your anterior segment approaches,” he said.
