NEW YORK — In this Healio Video Perspective from OSN New York Retina, Rishi P. Singh, MD, FASRS, discusses biomarkers for angiopoietin-2 and VEGF inhibition in wet age-related macular degeneration and diabetic macular edema.
Singh said there is evidence showing the effect of angiopoietin-2 on hyperreflective foci, retinal thickness and hard exudates.
“These are things that unfortunately were untreatable for many years,” he said. “We know that they improved with some anti-VEGF therapy, but we’re seeing even a greater improvement in these patient populations as a result of this dual therapy action of faricimab.”
