NEW YORK — In this Healio Video Perspective from OSN New York, Matt Jensen, MBA, discusses the ethics and economics of interventional glaucoma.
Jensen said the key to interventional glaucoma management is to be procedurally minded first and then use drop therapies to bridge the gap between procedures.
“Not only is interventional glaucoma a really important thing to do, and one of the more righteous things to do in ophthalmology, but it tends to be one, at least right now, that also reimburses well,” he said. “While we’ve paid attention to refractive cataract surgery and refractive surgery over the past 20 to 25 years to build our practices, we think it’s also profitable, and a good thing for your practice and your team, to get them involved with being interventionally minded for glaucoma.”
