To the Editor We commend Hathaway and colleagues on their seminal work describing a potential association between semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonist (GLP-1 RA), and the development of nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION). While the findings are hypothesis generating, the study has some limitations that prevent a definitive conclusion from being drawn.
